Privacy Policy for LazyBackup

At LazyBackup, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the LazyBackup app on your iPhone and computer. LazyBackup enables you to back up your iPhone photos to your computer over a local Wi-Fi network. We prioritize your security and do not collect personal data other than your email address and, in versions of the app that display advertisements, certain advertising-related data collected by our advertising partner, as outlined below. We do not access, collect, or store your photos.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use LazyBackup:

  • Email Address: We collect your email address solely for account creation, authentication, and communication purposes (e.g., to send you updates or respond to support inquiries).
  • Advertising Data: If you use a version of the app that displays advertisements, our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may collect information from your device, including your device advertising identifier (such as Apple's Identifier for Advertisers, or IDFA), ad interaction data (such as ads shown, viewed, or tapped), general usage and diagnostic data, and, in some cases, approximate (coarse) location. This is described further in the "Advertising" section below.
  • No Other Personal Data: Aside from the information described above, LazyBackup does not collect other personal information such as your name or precise location. We do not access or store your photos; they are transferred directly from your iPhone to your computer over your local Wi-Fi network and remain under your control.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your email address for the following purposes:

  • To create and authenticate your LazyBackup account.
  • To communicate with you about app updates, support requests, or important notices.
  • We do not use your email for marketing purposes unless you explicitly opt in to receive such communications.

Advertising data is used by our advertising partner to deliver, measure, and personalize the advertisements shown in the app, as described in the "Advertising" section below.

3. Data Security

We take your privacy and security seriously:

  • Local Transfers Only: LazyBackup transfers your photos directly between your iPhone and computer over your local Wi-Fi network. Your photos never leave your local network and are not stored on our servers.
  • Encrypted Transfers: All data transfers between your iPhone and computer are encrypted to protect your information from unauthorized access.
  • No Photo Access: We do not access, store, or process your photos at any point—they remain on your devices or external hard drive.
  • Email Security: Your email address is stored securely using industry-standard encryption practices and is only accessed by authorized personnel for the purposes outlined above.

4. Advertising

LazyBackup may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob, a service operated by Google LLC. To serve these ads, AdMob and its partners may collect and process information from your device, including your device advertising identifier (IDFA), ad interaction data, usage and diagnostic information, and, in some cases, approximate (coarse) location. This information may be used to deliver, measure, and personalize advertising, including across other apps and websites.

  • Separate From Your Photos: Advertising data is entirely separate from your photos and backups. Your photos are transferred only over your local Wi-Fi network and are never collected, stored, or shared with advertisers.
  • App Tracking Transparency: On iOS, we will ask your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before using your IDFA to personalize ads. If you decline, you will still see advertisements, but they will be non-personalized. You can change this choice at any time in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.
  • Google's Policies: Google's collection and use of advertising data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and its Partner Policies (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). You can review Google's advertising practices and opt-out options at https://adssettings.google.com.

5. Data Sharing

We do not share your email address or any other information with third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Advertising Partner: Advertising data described in the "Advertising" section above is collected and processed by Google AdMob to serve advertisements within the app. We do not share your email address or photos with Google or any other advertiser.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your email if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or court order.
  • Service Providers: We may use trusted third-party services (e.g., email service providers) to send communications, but they are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and are not permitted to use your email for any other purpose.

6. Data Retention

  • We retain your email address for as long as your LazyBackup account is active or as needed to provide support and comply with legal obligations.
  • If you choose to delete your account, we will delete your email address from our systems within 30 days, unless we are required to retain it for legal reasons.
  • Advertising data collected by Google AdMob is retained and handled in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your information:

  • Access and Update: You can access or update your email address at any time through the LazyBackup app settings.
  • Delete: You can request deletion of your email address by deleting your account. To do so, please contact us at pagesai.com@gmail.com.
  • Opt-Out of Communications: If you receive communications from us, you can opt out by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages.
  • Opt-Out of Personalized Ads: You can decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or turn off tracking at any time in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking, to receive non-personalized ads. You can also adjust Google's ad settings at https://adssettings.google.com.

8. Children's Privacy

LazyBackup is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not direct advertising to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided an email address, we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy in the LazyBackup app or by emailing you at the address you provided. Your continued use of the app after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
